Memorial and Honorary Giving

Remember COC through Memorial Giving or to Honor a Relative or Friend. Bill Heaton established a memorial fund in memory of his daughter Joanie. Joanie was a loving daughter who spent much of her adult life in COC homes, in which Mr. Heaton continues to remain passionately and extensively involved. The memorial fund monies were combined with funds donated by the Mies family in memory of Thomas Mies. Together, these funds are reserved to assist the men and women affiliated with COC with expenses they cannot assume, and for activities and vacations that would otherwise be unattainable.

You can help by designating COC for your Memorial or Honorary giving. These donations will help support the general needs of COC. We appreciate when families remember COC by placing memorial envelopes at the funeral home. A call to COC (734)422-1020 will deliver memorial envelopes to a funeral home or your home. Anyone who remembers COC through their memorial giving can send a donation to COC in memory of an individual.

Also, consider donating to honor someone special for their birthday, anniversary, or just because you care. Whether memorializing or honoring someone, a recognition letter is sent to the recipient and the donor. Your donation will make a difference!

Lower Your Taxes and Provide a Donation to COC

Community Opportunity Center (COC) is one of the charitable organizations participating in the Charity Motors Car Designation Program. People can donate a car they no longer want/need, receive a tax deduction, and designate COC to receive the proceeds from the sale of their car. If you donate to United Way, please choose the Plymouth Community United Way (PCUW). You can designate PCUW, whether you make a pledge or donate directly. Community Opportunity Center (COC) is one of more than forty agencies receiving funds from PCUW. COC relies heavily on this contribution therefore, your donation to PCUW is another way you can support COC.
