In 1965 the Community Opportunity Center (COC), a non-profit corporation, opened its first home for adults with developmental disabilities.

Today, COC comprises more than 20 homes, condominiums and apartments in northwest Wayne County, Michigan. The number of people sharing a home varies; however, the majority consist of four or less sharing a small home.

While housing is the foundation for which COC was built, enhancing the lives of the men and women we support through skill development, community involvement, nurturing friendships, encouraging involvement with known and enjoyed activities, and offering a variety of new adventures and activities are paramount to a full and prosperous life within COC.
