In 1965 the Community Opportunity Center (COC), a non-profit corporation, opened its first home for adults with developmental disabilities.

Today, COC comprises more than 20 homes, condominiums, and apartments in northwest Wayne County, Michigan. The number of people sharing a home varies; however, the majority consist of four or less.

While housing is the foundation on which COC is built, enhancing the lives of the men and women through skill development, community involvement, nurturing friendships, involvement in various activities, and new adventures are paramount to a full and prosperous life within COC.
